Please read the following carefully. By accessing this website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions as detailed below:
Orders can be placed via this website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
When an order is placed you are offering to buy it for the price stated, subject to these Terms.
When you place your Order online you will be sent an email to confirm that we have received it. This email confirmation will be produced automatically so that you have confirmation of your Order details. The fact that you receive an automatic confirmation does not necessarily mean that we will be able to meet your Order. Once we have sent the confirmation email we will then check availability and contact you with a further email. If the Product is available and the details of the Order are correct, this email will be deemed an acceptance and will specify delivery details and confirm the price of the Products purchased. If the Product is not available we will also let you know by email.
For your records, please print and retain a hard copy of the transaction receipt that will be sent to you via email.
Please be aware that it is the customers responsibilty to supply the correct delivery address on placing their order. Hiccup Ltd cannot be held responsible for the loss of orders due to incorrect delivery addresses being submitted. Please check your order confirmation email as soon as you receive it to make sure your address details are correct. In the event of a mistake, please contact us 0845 373 1430 immediately.
Hiccup Ltd has the right to cancel any sale if it is reasonable to do so and may change or discontinue the availability of products at any time at its sole discretion. If an Order is cancelled, any payment made for the Products will be refunded in full. This does not affect your Statutory Rights.
If you place your order, and for whatever reason change your mind and wish to cancel straight away, please notify us within 1 hour by email (info@hiccupgifts.com) or by phone, to ensure your order is not dispatched.
You will be notified of the delivery costs automatically before you submit your credit card details, based on the delivery address you specify. For more information about our delivery charges click here.
All prices are inclusive of VAT.
Prices quoted on hiccupgifts.com are in UK pounds (£ Sterling). If you are ordering from outside the UK your credit card company should exchange the amount charged to the currency of your country at the current rate. Please note that both charges and refunds are in UK pounds and Hiccup Ltd cannot be held responsible for any loss due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Non-EU customers are responsible for Import Duty/Tax in their respective countries. Unfortunately we cannot advise you what these costs will be - please consult your local customs office for more information.
Payment for your Order must be received before it is dispatched.
Please note we only accept payment in £GBP Sterling.
Orders may be processed online using a credit or debit card (currently VISA, MasterCard, Visa Delta, Switch, Solo and Maestro). Once Hiccup Ltd has received your purchase request we will begin to process your order. Please be aware that full payment will be taken from your card when we have accepted your order and it is ready to be dispatched.
Purchases will appear on your statement as 'WWW.HICCUPGIFTS.COM, Marlow, Bucks'.
To ensure that shopping online is secure, your credit/debit card details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of someone being able to read them as they are sent over the Internet.
Your credit card company may also do security checks to confirm it is you making the Order.
All Order details and invoices will be sent to the credit card billing address and not the delivery address where the named recipient of the Order differs.
Hiccupgifts.com is kept as up to date as possible but we cannot guarantee that a particular Product will always be available. If we can't supply a Product you will not be charged for it and we will refund or re-credit your account with the amount debited by us.
All offers are available while stocks last. If we are unable to supply a Product you have Ordered, we will notify you as soon as we can after receiving your Order. If this happens, you may cancel your Order and we will refund you the money you have paid.
If you have used the hiccupgifts.com web site before or have Ordered Products from us before it is possible that we have some information already and it is being used to contact you about offers, events, items or related activities that you may find useful. If you are an existing customer we will continue to keep you informed unless you tell us not to.
If you are a new customer we will give you the choice (once you have placed an Order) whether or not you want us to contact you about future offers, events and new Products or related activities that you may find useful. We will not bombard you with emails, but we'd like to keep you informed of any changes at Hiccupgifts.com.
We will not send you any marketing emails unless you give us your consent, or unless we have it already.
We believe that you will be delighted with your product but there may be occasions where you feel it necessary to return an item. We aim to keep the process as simple as possible. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
If for whatever reason you are unhappy with an item when you receive it or if you simply change your mind please return it to us within 30 days, with the despatch note, and we will refund you the price you paid for that product (excluding P&P). Please note - it is the responsibility of the customer to take reasonable care of the product(s) during this period, and to return them in an unused state.
We will make the refund directly to the credit/charge card used to place the original order within 30 days of the cancellation and you will only have to pay for the return postage of the Products.
We try to select and package the Products as well as possible to ensure they arrive in tip top condition. However, if a Product arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, we will replace it free of charge or provide a full refund as appropriate, if you return the product to us at the postal address below within 30 days of receipt.
In these circumstances we will also pay you the cost of the return postage. Please obtain a proof of posting certificate from your Post Office to enable us to process the refund for your return postage costs.
This does not affect your Statutory Rights.
Please contact us by email (at info@hiccupgifts.com) to inform us of your wish to return Products.
We may allocate you with a Returns Code which should be included with the package to improve processing of your return.
You will be responsible for the returned products until they reach us so please use a secure delivery method which requires a signature upon receipt (such as via Royal Mail First Class Recorded Delivery) and return to the address below.
Watches Under Guarantee
All of our watches are covered by their manufacturer’s guarantees, please consult your guarantee booklet for information.
We strongly recommend that you read the guarantee as this informs you what is and what is not covered, but we have included a general guide below.
The manufacturer’s guarantee covers malfunctions that arise due to defects in materials and workmanship.
The guarantee is usually rendered void if unauthorised repairs have been carried out by someone other than an authorised dealer of the brand.
If the watch does develop a fault which is covered by the guarantee then you can either return it direct to the manufacturer yourself, with a covering note outlining the problem, proof of purchase and your guarantee booklet, or return it to us to send to the manufacturer on your behalf.
If you want to return it to us then we would ask you to include a covering note outlining what the problem is and containing a contact number. We also require you to send in your guarantee booklet, card or certificate. Upon receipt we shall check and test the watch to confirm any faults and whether they should be covered by the guarantee and then return it to the manufacturer as necessary. If we find that the problem is not covered by the guarantee we shall inform you as soon as possible. The turnaround time for repairs under guarantee is usually 2 to 4 weeks, subject to part availability. If there is going to be a longer delay then we shall contact you to inform you of this.
If the problem is not covered by the guarantee we can still get it repaired for you by the manufacturer but there will be a charge, inclusive of postage. We will inform you of this charge and if you wish to have the work done then we will need payment prior to the work being undertaken.
WEEE Regulations:
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
· Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
· Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
Hiccup Ltd is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a customer bought a new clock / watch from us we would accept their old clock / watch and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol with a thick black bar
underneath it.
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
